About DollarRoots
DollarRoots is a free personal-finance platform built for people in India, the US, and NRIs who live between both systems. It rests on three things: decision tools that answer the questions search engines get asked millions of times a year — “what will my in-hand salary be?”, “how much tax do I owe?”, “what does my SIP grow to?” — evergreen guides that explain how the rules actually work, and The Money Angle, our analysis of the money story behind the day's headlines — what things really cost and who really pays. Everything loads fast, works on a phone, and gives the answer above the fold without asking for your email.
What we believe
- Accuracy first. Tax slabs, rates and limits are stored in versioned data files labelled with their financial year, and updated when the rules change. Every tool states its assumptions in plain language.
- No friction. No signup, no paywall, no “unlock full results” tricks. Results update live as you type.
- Estimates, not advice. Our calculators model the common case. Your employer's salary structure or your tax situation may differ — treat every number here as a well-informed estimate, not financial advice.

Software Engineer · Fintech & Trading Systems
DollarRoots was founded and is built by Shubham Yadav, a Computer Science engineer. He works deep inside fintech and trading systems used by millions of people — the pipes real money actually moves through, where a wrong number is not an option. That same engineering standard drives this site: every tax slab, rate and formula is checked against the primary official source (incometax.gov.in, the Finance Act, the IRS) and cross-verified before a tool goes live. Read exactly how in How we verify our numbers.
DollarRoots is an independent project. It is not affiliated with any bank, broker, employer or government body, and it does not sell financial products. If you spot an error in a calculation, tell us — corrections ship fast.
